While I have created numerous professional education courses for clients under non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), I’ve also produced some personal projects that illustrate the variety of learning interactions and solutions that can be achieved.
Terms of Engagement: Can You Make the Deal?
Every negotiation has its pivotal moment. The proposal is laid out, the terms are being discussed, and Jordan Ellis is not the type of buyer who makes it easy. In Terms of Engagement, you'll engage in a live closing discussion with a skeptical VP of Marketing, who will question your pricing, timeline, and level of commitment. How you manage this conversation will determine if you leave with a signed contract or nothing at all.
This is a negotiation simulation where you take on the role of a sales consultant aiming to secure a deal with Jordan Ellis, an AI-bot and skilled negotiator. The framework is based on "Getting Yes" by Fisher and Ury (Harvard Negotiation Project), alongside consultative selling discovery techniques in a live closing context.
You will input your own responses—there's no multiple-choice safety net. A live tracker visualizes the shifts in your proposal regarding price, contract duration, and timeline. A debrief evaluates your negotiation tactics and reveals what you might have missed.

It's Time to Take the Keys Away
A simulated conversation with mom
Life is filled with pivotal moments that bring about change.
Some of the toughest conversations we face aren't at work, but with those we cherish. As our parents grow, we may encounter decisions that test established family dynamics. Striking a balance between honoring a loved one's independence and ensuring their safety can be emotionally challenging, often with no straightforward solutions.
Talking about driving safety with an aging parent exemplifies such conversations. Emotions can run high, and the words we choose, along with our communication style, can either foster trust or spark conflict.
As a follow-up to the Walking the Journey Together course, this simulation offers a safe space to hone those communication skills before engaging in similar discussions in real life. In this scenario, you will step into the role of the adult child, while Dorthy (the AI bot) embodies your mother, who is determined to maintain her independence.

The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) is a professional organization dedicated to serving the needs of construction financial professionals and their service providers through education, networking, and information.
I've had the pleasure of working with CFMA since 2023 to develop interactive on-demand courses covering the topic areas of accounting, human resources, business management, organization, and technology. CFMA members may purchase and complete these NASBA/AICPA-compliant courses to earn continuing education credit.

An interactive e-learning experience for aspiring and established leaders.
Effective leadership isn’t one-size-fits-all. Leading with Style is an interactive eLearning experience designed to help professionals discover their unique leadership style and understand how it shapes their approach to team dynamics, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
Through interactive scenarios, a self-assessment, and practical reflections, learners will explore five core leadership styles—uncovering their natural strengths and learning how to adapt their approach to meet the needs of their team and the situation at hand. This course provides insights and strategies to lead with confidence, clarity, and impact.

a web-based tool for building responsive eLearning. Its block-based structure enables efficient development while maintaining a clean, consistent design across devices.
Rise supports built-in interactive elements—such as accordions, knowledge checks, and scenario activities—to create engaging learning experiences. It is especially well-suited for projects that prioritize clarity, accessibility, and rapid development.
Protecting Your Hearing for a Lifetime
Protecting Your Hearing for a Lifetime is an interactive course that helps learners understand how sound exposure affects long-term hearing health and how to prevent hearing loss through everyday habits.
I created this course based on my background as a clinical audiologist and hearing science researcher, with the goal of translating complex research into practical, accessible guidance.
It was built in Articulate Rise 360 because its clean, responsive design and built-in interactions make it ideal for delivering focused, easy-to-navigate learning experiences.
Walking the Quad: A Parent's Role in College Visits
Walking the Quad is a brief course that helps parents and students get more out of college visits by focusing on what to observe, ask, and consider when evaluating campus fit. It offers guidance on what to look for, what questions to ask, and how to move beyond brochures to evaluate fit and campus culture.
I developed it from both instructional design experience and my perspective as a parent of two college students, with another preparing for the college search process.
It was built in Articulate Rise 360 for its clean, mobile-friendly design and ease of use, making it accessible for families during the college search process.

Walking the Journey Together
A Practical Guide to Supporting a Parent with Dementia
This course was developed to support adult children navigating the early signs and progression of dementia in a parent. Inspired by personal experience, the course addresses a common gap: families often struggle to distinguish normal aging from cognitive decline and to make informed decisions about care, safety, and support. The learning experience is designed to provide practical, accessible guidance across the continuum—from early symptom recognition through caregiving and long-term planning.
The course uses a scenario-based approach to promote application and decision-making. Short video vignettes and interactive activities allow learners to evaluate realistic situations, explore care options, and apply strategies to support both the individual with dementia and the caregiver. Content is intentionally structured to balance emotional awareness with actionable guidance, ensuring learners leave with both increased confidence and concrete next steps.
I conducted an accessibility audit and aligned it with WCAG 2.2 Level AA through corrected alt text, semantic heading structure, and verified keyboard and screen reader navigation.

The Onboarding Passport
Navigating your first 90 days
The Onboarding Passport is a gamified onboarding course for new professional hires, built to demonstrate mechanic-driven gamification rather than "pointsified" content. Learners navigate five destinations — culture, tools, conduct, team, and growth — each a fully branching scenario built around a real early-career judgment call.
Every decision trades off two resources, Passport Points and Trust, with no option maximizing both, so learners choose a strategy rather than hunt for a "correct" answer. A pre-course allocation exercise sets each learner's starting orientation, which quietly resurfaces later in the journey — including a cross-destination consequence that adapts one scenario's framing to the learner's accumulated Trust. The course concludes with a personalized archetype (Executor, Connector, or Navigator) based on the learner's overall balance of the two resources.
